First, a little bit about myself:

My name is Susan Miller. I am a professional, certified aromatherapist. Being certified means that I've spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars on my education. I'm no MLM oiler that took a weekend course. Being a professional means I have twenty years of experience successfully assisting others along their healing journey through the use of therapeutic essential oils that I formulate myself. At this point, the number of clients I have helped is in the thousands. One of the greatest blessings in life is finding your passion and allowing it to blossom into a career where you can help others in need; I am truly blessed.
How I got here:
Many years ago I was struggling as a court reporter. It was my dream job -- working with lawyers, working with words, wearing my fancy suits. Loved it! But my body was failing me. I was in constant pain, that slowly spread over my entire body. I couldn't sleep. I could no longer work. I was miserable.
Over six years, I saw many doctors and received various diagnoses as my condition worsened. Eventually, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I received treatment from the best rheumatology group in Orlando for nearly three years. I took all the drugs they prescribed and did what they told me, but my physical and mental health continued to deteriorate.
I reached a point where I was disappointed when I woke up in the mornings. I can honestly say that I didn't want to be here anymore. I couldn't imagine trudging through the rest of my life with the pain and misery I was living with. It was terrible. I was a shell of my former self. Nothing ever got me down before; I could summon the strength to work through any illness. Nothing stopped me. But now, I was miserable and hopeless.
I began looking into natural remedies and planned to ask my rheumatologist questions. The first time I approached her, she seemed to have an attitude with me. I thought to myself, maybe she's having a bad day, and I decided I would broach the subject at my next three-month visit. This time she looked at me and said, "You need to accept that you've got this. You're going to have it for the rest of your life and you need to learn to deal with it." I walked out that day and never went back.
For me, her response was as if she'd thrown down a gauntlet. Of course, it was a personal challenge, but a challenge nonetheless. You see, I realized that I wasn't born with this "disease." Something happened to me that created these symptoms in my body. That revelation meant there was something that could reverse it. And I was determined to conquer it.
I could go on and on about all the things I tried to regain my health--perhaps in another blog one day, as some of them were pretty crazy. Ultimately, I came upon a woman selling essential oil roll-ons at a pop-up event, which completely redirected my life.
I tried the roll-ons she recommended. I was not expecting the results I got. Within a few minutes of using her tension-relieving blend on my stiff neck and shoulders, I could turn my head fully! Over time, I tried other blends that she offered and experienced amazing results! I was blown away! I contacted the owner of the company and she offered to teach me and allowed me to sell for her at some events. I began seeing great results for other people, too. At this point, I was head over heels in love!
I apprenticed with her for three years and learned everything I could. I began making my own blends and had great success with them. This is when I discovered I am blessed with a gift of working with essential oils. What a tremendous blessing!
Further down the road, with the growing popularity of MLMs and the dangerous spread of misinformation, I decided to get my certification. Education is priceless and powerful, and I enjoyed learning even more about these wonderful, healing treasures.
Which brings us to today:
I'm creating this blog to share my stories and educate others on the power of therapeutic essential oils. I hope to educate with entertaining anecdotes and my own sassy opinion. Please keep in mind that anything you read here is generated by my own opinion, and although backed by science, nothing should be construed as medical advice because I am not a doctor.

Knowledge is power.
I hope that through the musings and ramblings of my blog, I am able to offer useful information on essential oils and other natural aspects of self-care. Feel free to comment and let me know if there is something in particular you'd like me to address. I'm always eager to answer questions and provide guidance.
